Jesse Tree- Day 8

Tonight we looked at the story of Joseph- the entire story from Genesis 39-50! So, we did a lot of paraphrasing. We talked about his 11 brothers, his coat of many colors, how his brothers were mean to him and gave him away, how God took care of Joseph through many ups and downs and how eventually Joseph forgave his brothers. All I could think about as we told the story to the boys is how good God is. We all know Romans 8:28 For we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose. And right here we see God proving that in the life of Joseph. It's so cool how He proves a lesson about Him in the New Testament by His actions in the Old Testament! God never changes! Joseph loved God and his enemies, even his brothers, set out to do him harm. But God was more powerful that Joseph's brothers or Potiphar's wife. And ultimately God worked everything not only for Joseph's good but for the good of his entire family and, as we have been learning through the Jesse Tree, for the family of Christ.
