Come See Me
About two weeks ago we celebrated the Come See Me Festival here in Rock Hill. This is the annual week long Spring festival each April. We really loved it last year and this year was wonderful, too. Even better in fact since Jack was here in town this year!
We started on Friday night up on Main Street for Chalk on Main. They close down Main Street and pass out sidewalk chalk to all of the kids and let them draw to their heart's content. There are food vendors and live music to add to the festival atmosphere.

Then Saturday we went to Cherry Park for the Mayor's Frog Jumping Competition as well as some fun carnival rides. Caleb and Noah raced their own frogs and Jack helped Josiah race his. Jack and Josiah had a sleepy frog apparently.... he didn't want to jump. It was fun watching. Then we let the boys ride some of the carnival rides in the park. Caleb climbed on the climbing wall. He got about halfway up and then had trouble finding his footing. He tried for a while before he gave up. We tried to encourage him to keep going but he said, "My arms are so tired!" It was a very fun morning.
And then Sunday afternoon we went to Glencairn Garden just about 1/2 a mile from our house for Sundaes in the Park. We enjoyed ice cream sundaes, face painting, crafts and fun with friends.
The Blankenships and the Chambers
The throughout the week there were free concerts each day at Glencairn Garden. There was a noon concert and a 6:00 pm concert. Monday night we went to the 6:00 concert after our weekly dinner at Chick-fil-a. The kids played and ran around and we had a wonderful family time.
Then Tuesday we met friends at the Library for special Come See Me crafts followed by the noon concert in the park. The noon concert was for kids and was an exercise program with Sir Purr the mascot of the Carolina Panthers. We packed a picnic and enjoyed lots of fun with our friends.
Then on Tuesday night we took a walk down to Winthrop Lake, right behind out neighborhood. Winthrop Lake is the sports complex for Winthrop University with the basketball colluseum, baseball, softball, soccer fields, golf course, disc golf course and a lake. We love living so close by! We got the Winthrop baseball game during the 6th inning which was perfect. They were no longer charging and the kids really could only sit for about 3 innings anyway. After the baseball game, we walked over the to soccer field where the pro soccer team the Charlotte Eagles were playing! We watched the soccer game for a bit and then walked home. We a very fun filled wonderful week we enjoyed.
