New House Pictures

Yes, I am finally getting around to posting some new house pictures! If you are out of the loop, we bought a house in December. It was a huge God thing. God provided the perfect house for us, right across the street from a park, and still less than a mile from campus! Then, He provided financially for us. In this case, God literally made a way when there was no way. We feel incredibly blessed.

The house was built in 1950 and has a ton of original character- original hardwood floors, built-in cabinets, french doors. A front room was added on in 1964. There are two fireplaces- a wood burning one in the original part of the house and one with gas logs in the living room.

The house had 3 bedrooms and 1 1/2 bathrooms. We turned the den into a 4th bedroom- the master bedroom actually. And we turned the 1/2 bath in a laundry room (there was not a dedicated laundry room). We are hoping to add on a master bathroom this Summer.

We worked really hard the first week after we closed to get the house ready- we updated flooring, painted, turned the half-bath into a laundry room, and did a lot of work in the kitchen. We had a lot of help from awesome friends and we are really happy with everything that has been done do far!

The house has a great lot- a big backyard, and side yard, and it's right across the street from a city park. We have a lot of yardwork to do- but it has a ton of potential.

Kids' Rooms

Caleb gets his own room! Nana and Paw-Paw got his bedding for Christmas. We finished his room for his birthday. He is thrilled.

Noah and Josiah share the former master bedroom. We kept the triple bunks, cause they are awesome. 

Eden's room is about the same as it was in our last house.

For now we all share 1 bathroom. Yes, you read that right! It's actually not as hard as I thought it would be. I think homeschooling makes it easier. Jack is the only one who has somewhere to be in the morning. Our 1 bathroom is a good size.

Living Room

The living room was the addition in 1964. It is a huge room with high ceilings. Great for BCM leadership meetings! (And big Christmas trees!!!)

Dining Room

The dining room was the original living room. It is open to the current living room and is quite large. The wonderful table Jack built fits great. And it has a wood burning fireplace. We still have some painting to do in here, but we took care of the wall paper!

Playroom

The original dining room is now our playroom. There are french doors between the dining room and the playroom that I love! And a built in cabinet in the playroom. It is open to the kitchen as well. 

Master Bedroom

The master bedroom is the former den. It is on the opposite end of the house from the kids' room, which is nice. We painted, tore out some cabinets and replaced the flooring. It is a pretty dramatic difference. We love it! The white cabinets are temporary until we add on the master bath.

Kitchen

We did a lot of work in the kitchen. The kitchen had plywood floors that were painted black, old appliances, and a lack of cabinet and counter space. We changed the floors, painted the original cabinets and added additional cabinets and new appliances and lighting. I love the way it turned out!
