Birthday Weekend of Fun
Last weekend, we took the boys away for a special birthday weekend for Noah's 3rd birthday and Caleb's 5th birthday. We drove about 25 minutes to Pineville, NC and stayed at a hotel with an indoor pool. After we enjoyed swimming we surprised the boys with dinner at Chuck E. Cheese. They had never been before, but Caleb has been asking for months to go. We had a great time! When we got back to the hotel we let the boys open their special gifts from Mommy and Daddy- a Buzz Lightyear costume for Noah and a Captain America costume for Caleb. Boy were there excited! Then on Saturday we woke up, enjoyed breakfast and then rode the train into Charlotte. The boys loved riding the light rail train. We were able to ride from Pineville to a stop just two blocks away from Discovery Place museum- the neatest museum ever! And we got in free thanks to a reciprocal deal with the Fernbank Museum in Atlanta where we are members. It was so much fun! We first went to an area for younger kids with a water table, building blocks, drums and a toddler area. Then we went and saw a short 3-D animated movie about the earth. The boys explored the rainforest and the aquarium. We tested the laws of physics, they laid on a bed of nails and did some chemistry experiments. It was really great. We ended the day riding the train back to Pineville and enjoying burgers at Red Robin before we drove home. It was an absolutely wonderful weekend celebrating two very sweet, very big blessings!
I'm turning 3!
I'm turning 5!
I'm just happy to be here!
Riding the train!
Daddy and the boys built a car and raced it against that other boys' car. We won!!
Caleb on the bed of nails
Noah was not so sure about the nails!
This was my first attempt at group shot on the train.
And this is after I told them I had fruit snack in my bag! Bribery always works!
