He's here!! Josiah was born exactly one week ago- August 27, at 7:46 am. He weighed 8 lbs 12 oz and was 19.5 inches long. He is absolutely precious and looks very much like his big brothers! He has more hair and it seems darker to us, although every nurse and doctor who saw him all talked about his head full of blonde hair, so who knows?!
Having Josiah around make Noah and Caleb seem HUGE! Especially Noah, who was the baby until last week. He seemed to have grown overnight! The big boys are so great with Josiah. Caleb asks to hold him several times a day and kisses him over and over. And of course, then Noah has to kiss him too! Caleb sweetly talks to Josiah, sings him songs and reads him books. It makes my heart happy to watch them together. Noah has adjusted much better than I expected. When we ask him what the baby's name is, he says, "Mine!" And when we ask him whose the baby is, he says, "Mine!" And if we ask him if it's our baby, he says, "NO!" It's very cute!
My heart is just overflowing. Being a mommy of three precious gifts is wonderful. It is challenging and I know that challenging days are ahead, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. My new favorite verse is the one we printed on Josiah's baby announcement...
"Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from Him." Psalm 127:3
I don't know what I have done to deserve such a reward, but I am overcome with gratefulness to God for His grace in the gift of my sons!
